Goals and Objectives... why do people set these in their lives? What will it be like to fulfill them? And alternatively, what will it be like to not even complete or you were to do it half-hearted?
I never really thought about this questions until today. I always thought that if i can't do it, then so be it. I shall move on to another matter. However, what Wolf told me today was true and what I shared with Wisdom Keeper and Wombat was a really major turn in our lives. It really set me thinking, what does it makes of me to do things that is my responsibility yet I didn't do it with my honour and to the best of my capabilities. Am I just an average joe out there? (No offence, just a neutral statement). Or am I made for a greater good and betterment of the society?
I shared with the Siglap Rovers who were present earlier on some thinking questions. One of which was surprise that he didn't thought of that throughout his life in scouting, let alone life itself. Who do we want to be in the future and what are our purpose mean to us in scouting or in life?
To an average scout, it would be his dreams and ambitions. Good for the boy.
To an average venture, it would be his dreams, ambitions and goals in life. Good for the boy.
To an average rover or leader, it would mean more than these mentioned. It would meant what his is purpose in the scouting scene and how he defines himself as a member of the society. Not the scouting society only, but of the Whole World.
A difference between a rover and a Rover rover is basically how he act upon what he says and how he feels about things. Even in life, why do some people are being so successful in life, while others just waste away? Is it the environment? Is it the people around him? Or is it himself?
Standing by the person you love... is it just because it is your duty? or is it just purely out of love? It doesn't take much time to really spend time with your love ones. It doesn't take much effort. For those who look beyond the earthly and material gifts will eventually realise something greater and simpler that motivates the relationship.
Some may complain that my boyfriend or girlfriend isn't spending much time with me or bah bah bah... however, are you doing the same? Or are you just not doing anything productive in your own life, thus wanting to find other avenues to fit in? Wolf mentioned a sense of belonging. I agree that people (regardless of age, sex, language, religion and race) will want a sense of belonging somehow or another.
Some can fit in well... some just can't. So what's next?
I can't say that I am the perfect boyfriend or let alone husband material. There isn't perfection in everyone eyes. People have their own expectation in the relationship and of coz' would like to see it through. However, can one's expectation really co-exist in the relationship together? I don't know.
Success... is it just a matter of attitude? Or does it mean more than that? A lot of people will agree to this statement, however the question is... what kind of attitude? I recently found out that I have short-temper with regards to my attitude in scouting and the relationship. Perhaps, I'm too used to being happy-go-lucky that I fail to withstand the negative feelings that other people are feeling. I know it's dumb to bring in other people's feelings into my own life. However, being a logical person isn't always right. Sometimes in life, you got to be emotional too. Or else you are just a piece of stone.
Well, much said and done... I'm looking forward to more sharing sessions with my fellow brothers and sisters as I am paddling my own canoe out to venture more and to rover more. At the same time, I am also looking forward to more dating in the relationship... right Marlinne?
I've done up my Rover Logbook cum Diary. Next up, is the diary of the Marlin and Marlinne. Time to print pictures and test my art skills! Loves...
