Just a few moments ago, marks our 2 month anniversary. Some may say its premature, others claiming that its silly to pursue such calculations... Whatever it is, we survived! haha nah, I'm not going to post up any mushy things for now.
Well, I had a meeting with Wolf, Wisdom Keeper and Wombat a while ago as well. Listening to such meetings really bring about a different light in the terms of moulding future leaders. How do we mould such leaders? How do we provide the missing links to allow the boys and girls to achieve their potential... their ideal stage?
Lots of factors to consider especially the capability of the boys or girls being able to receive and perform to their own standards. It will be an interesting PLTC this year, definitely...
Anyway, some food for thoughts about scouting to me. Perhaps, you may find your own journey of scouting life too.
Scouting isn't really just a CCA. It may sound like a cult or gathering... however it's a fellowship among fellow scouters who share the same passion for adventure, learner's attitude and fun.
Scouting is just a journey for anyone to partake and discover one's self as well as to grow stronger physically, mentality and emotionally. We used to say, scouting teaches a boy to be a man. Why? Simply, by equipping the boys relevant skills in life so as to used them in the future as a man. Simple learning values to communicate with others, to be a leader, to use tools for working things out... etc.
And when anyone comes back to scouting... he or she will be a boy or girl again... regardless of age. Why so? So as to have fun again and to be free to learn and to enjoy yourself without restrictions. :)
Before anyone who decides to take on the journey... think back... who are you and what you want to be? Then from there, take the scouting journey to fill up your missing links as well as to make friends, who will support you and your dreams. If you know who you are and what you would be like in the future... good for you, however it doesn't mean that you cannot take on the journey. It just means that the journey allows you to reinforce your direction as well as to learn new things that might help to build up your path.
Whatever decision made, the choice is yours to take. Some just wanted to learn and enjoy their lives, others would like to excel through scouting. The best part of being in a fellowship in Scouting is to share experiences, thoughts and skills with each other. There isn't any need to be political, and being scare that someone might be a competitor to you. In fact, it would be better if you could benefit others and at the same time benefit for your own growth.
Well, before it gets too naggy (like how Suicide Partner, Chick and Mei mei said)... I better stop for the moment.
Lots of activities coming up. Next up... guess?
