Donuts

People like to use many examples to talk about life. Such as life is like a game, life is like high-speed chase and so on and forth.

However, the one that I preferred over all the other example is like is like a donut. A donut is originally a full circle that has no end and no start. It just goes round and round. Everything is perfectly fit in it's original stead. However, when there is a hole in the middle (which makes it into a donut shape now!), a part of life is missing.

People who seek riches, filled it with riches. People who seek revenge, filled it with revenge. Traditional folks would say that when the right person comes into your life, that hole will be filled and life will be perfect again.
Another popular example is that life is a puzzle. Humans have to fit the pieces together to obtain the full and perfect picture. A piece missing will result in losing part of your life.

I once watched this kids show when I was in bible school at a particular church. It uses the same illustration of donuts to say that life is like a donut.. missing something and when Jesus came, HE fill up that missing part. The meaning may seems childish to some but if the human mind try to comprehend the fundamental meaning behind it. It's the same as your life will never be filled unless you accept Christ in your heart. Your heart is missing something that's why you whatever you desire never really satisfy you for long. Only HE can satisfy forever.

So next time as you are about to chew on a donut or while queueing for donuts at the Donut Factory, think about your life and what is really missing in the middle!!
